This past week we had a little round of snow and ice. I went out with my macro lens and saw this leaf still on an oak tree. It was cupped and held the snow-ice that had fallen. When I searched the Scriptures, I came across this verse from the book of Job.
This bible verse and section of Job is a reminder of God’s majesty and power. I recognize and trust the Lord’s creation of seasons – in nature and in life’s journeys. I know He holds me in His hand always. The world can be harsh, as we see this past week, however I am thankful that God’s plans are not thwarted. I may not understand current events now and then, but I do have faith that all that transpires is in His design. My mission and prayer are that I may share the love of Jesus at the opportunities I have and not let the cold world affect my attitude. May you have a blessed week ahead.

We had a pretty sunset a few nights ago and the clouds were in a peachy orange tone against the blue sky. It was breezy and cool and these clouds were flowing with the wind way, way up there. I chose this Scripture from the Psalms for this image because I was awed at this beautiful sky and grateful for God’s faithfulness to bring dusk and dawn every single day, not to mention His mercy on mankind.
Mercy and Faithfulness are a couple of the many attributes of God. As I look to the heavens, I feel my own minute stature in comparison. This verse states that these attributes of God are not measurable. The Lord cannot be put in a box or bottle, He is infinite in glory and power. I am so glad His love is immensely present as well. My response is to try to live righteously and to be more like Christ each day. May your week be blessed with moments of mercy and faithfulness! This is another snow scene for this week’s Photo-Scripture Blog! The day after the snow I saw this sweet young deer walking around looking for morsels of grass under the snow and a dove flew down looking for something too. When the deer saw the dove, it curiously walked over to it. I thought it was a sweet sight, as she did not harm the bird and the dove ended up flying off before it got too close for comfort. I decided to pair this bible Scripture from Romans with this image, especially since it is about love and tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.
The commandments of God are well-defined in how we are to live our lives. This passage speaks to me of the supreme manner for fulfilling the law of the Lord in relationships. God is love and when we love our neighbor, we demonstrate His love for us. Neighbor, here in the Greek, means near-fellow, close by countryman or friend - while Love is Agape which means affectionate, charity, dear, benevolence. In treating others with consistent consideration and care, we do not defy God’s laws concerning social relationships. It’s hard to do sometimes, but knowing that this directive is a commandment (Love your neighbor as yourself) I would do well to practice it. Love is an action and I hope to recall this verse when dealing with anyone who I come across in this life’s journey. Have a blessed week, my friends! |
