I have Asters growing in a planter; the first time I ever sowed these type seeds. They are pretty pastel colors and I really like them!
I thought this verse from Psalms was a good pairing. I looked up the words ‘Planted’ and ‘Flourish’ and the Hebrew meaning of them. Planted has a meaning of a primary root and flourish has a meaning of blossom, bud or flower. Also I found out in my study that often a tree was planted in the courtyard of the temple and it symbolized a thriving and close relationship with God. So as I thought about this I realized the basis of our relationship with our Lord is to firm up our roots in His word and by prayer, thereby we grow and mature in the faith. And besides this, we can sow the seeds of our faith as we minister to others. Maybe this seems basic but it is always a joy for me to have those meaningful correlations and they do build me up. Blessings to you this week!

My Zinnia flowers are attracting all kinds of wildlife. I was so pleased to see this big Swallowtail Butterfly resting on it the other day as the sun shined on its wings.
I thought about how this Scripture in Acts; Peter quoting king David, speaks of our blessed hope, as this part of his sermon reiterates the gospel guarantee. Our hope is not of this world. Our Lord Jesus holds a place for us for that Day in His perfect timing. I am so thankful God is gracious and keeps all His promises. We need not fear – God has told us our future. Stay strong and see the little things around us that speak of God’s assurance. Blessings to you all. I have been trying to sit outside to enjoy nature but the heat is a bit too much most of the time. I did get outside a few times this past week and got this photograph of a pretty fawn in the meadow behind us. It saw me and decided to take this brave stance as it tried to figure me out; cute and fearless!
This Scripture was a good match and makes me think about my walk in the Lord. I know that if I keep my mind in His truths, I will have the right tools to stay steady in everyday life matters that may try to come against me. When I am weak, He is strong - always. |
