Friday it was really cold and misty and I didn’t notice any birds during the day. Then at dusk a mockingbird flew up to this tree branch and stayed there for about ten minutes. I kept expecting it to eat the dark berries and leave but it just sat there; not singing or chirping – silently perched. I am reminded that my trust and confidence in God are often strongest when in a silent position as I pray in my heart for His guidance. I can just stop, wait and be silent; while meditating on His word and knowing He hears me. How grateful I am for that.
Well, the mockingbird finally ate a berry or two and then moved on. It is these special moments that I sometimes catch, giving me a chance to consider how God’s nature are sweet mini-lessons for me. I need to just pause life and look for them. May God bestow blessings on you this week!
