I almost stepped into this wondrous spider web the other day and just as I got close, the sunlight hit it at an angle that I could see it. I am so glad too, because the diligent spider was right in the center of it! I cannot imagine how long it took for the spider to weave this huge web; it is an amazing work.
I think this scripture gives me a nudge to remember to work my own tasks as if I am laboring to the Lord and not for a reward of pay or accolades but because of love. It is hard to do when the assignment seems to drag on. But really, God sees it all, so why wouldn’t I put my best into it? Laziness, frustration and time seem to rob me of the final blessing. Oh that I could remember this scripture in the thick of the chore! Thankfully, God’s grace is also in force and I can pray for that grace to get me through those times that I forget who my ultimate Commander in Chief is and that it is He whom I serve.
